Language Planning

As happens in other small countries in Europe, long term language planning is essential.  We need a 20 year plan that involves the public and private sectors, sport and leisure, digital media and entertainment. It will look beyond the public status of the language and focus on Welsh as a living language, in the family and community.

We wish to see a shift in policy regarding the regeneration of the Welsh language, whereby comprehensive Language Planning takes centre stage. In April 2020 we published Planning the Regeneration of the Welsh Language by Cynog Dafis, which is a document that clarifies of what we mean by this.

We would be very grateful to receive your comments, suggestions and any practical experience you may have in relation to this document. You can send your response to [email protected] or telephone 01248 811798 for further discussion.
